Somehow a list of possible #tag topics appeared on my screen – I must have inadvertently set something off when my finger slipped on the keypad.
I was quite surprised to see what was revealed.
Take a look at the top 15:

- #Education …………………………………………………………………… 8.7m
- #Customerrelations ……………………………………………………….. 8.5m (bit low on the scale – explains poor service?)
- #Productivity ……………………………………………………………….. 7.0m (bit low on the scale – explains inflation?)
Some of the topics that have some interestingly low followings (in no particular order):
- #Ethics …………………………………………………………………………… 56k (are you surprised?)
- #Consumerprotection ……………………………………………………….. 51k (who really cares?)
- #Bitcoin …………………………………………………………………………. 265k (that’s why the price is going to $1m!)

- #Riskmanagement ……………………………………………………………..1.0m (again, surprised?)
- #Travel ……………………………………………………………………………. 6.6m (only leisure topic on the whole list)
- #Socialentrepreneurship ……………………………………………………. 5.9m (an emerging culture to watch)
- #Datamining ……………………………………………………………………. 6.1m (is business intel -6.5m- the same thing?)
- #Gettingthingsdone ………………………………………………………….. 6.6m (pleased to see I’m not the only one!)
- #Health ………………………………………………………………………….. 790k (a low down the scale – excuse the pun?)
I know that LinkedIn has an unfathomable algorithm. So, your universe could look very different to mine. My universe, however, does comprise many professionals. Hence, these scores are reflective of that element of the population.
What I did find particularly interesting is the importance of women groups. Women are a decidedly meaningful force out in business world, much more impactful than I thought. That is a good thing.
From a marketing point of view, the cross section of interests is eye-opening.
